Aboriginal Curatorial Collective/Collectif des Commissaires Autochtones (ACC-CCA)

Call for proposals / indigenous curatorial projects: video program

DEADLINE /
JUNE 1ST, 2019

For the second consecutive year, CLARK, in collaboration with the Aboriginal Curatorial Collective/Collectif des Commissaires Autochtones (ACC-CCA), would like to initiate a new cycle of video presentations by inviting Indigenous (First Nations, Métis or Inuit) curators and artists from any region on the land we call Canada to submit a project. The selected artist or curator may work from a theme of their choice in the presentation of videos works (experimental, short films, documentaries) by Indigenous artists from Quebec or elsewhere. CLARK and ACC-CCA encourage the selected candidate to complement their programme with a public discussion. However, this, or any other parallel activity (performance, etc.), will remain at the discretion of the curator in consultation with the project partners.

The Aboriginal Curatorial Collective
The Aboriginal Curatorial Collective / Collectif des commissaires autochtones (ACC-CCA) is an Indigenous arts organization that advocates, activates, and engages on behalf of Canadian and international Indigenous curators, critics, artists and representatives of arts and cultural organizations. The ACC-CCA develops and programs curatorial projects, researches Indigenous practices and educates through critical discourses on Aboriginal arts and culture.

The selected candidate will receive a $750 curatorial fee and an additional budget allowance for screening fees for artists as well as parallel activity fees. The selected candidate will be responsible for this budget in collaboration with CLARK’s staff.
