Eric Lamontagne

In recent years, Eric Lamontagne has been interested in questions like perception, illusion and our relation to the invisible, through the development of works that blur the boundaries between reality and fiction. He imagines painted installations where the viewer physically enters the space of the canvas in a kind of 3D trompe-l’œil and becomes a character of this installative painting. Through some of  his istallation, he mixes painting, video, theater, interior design. The space is deconstructed into a multitude of paintings transposed in different styles and techniques that coexist without hierarchy. Interactivity is key and the visitor is sometimes invited to touch the sacred canvas.
